computer reset and now fail.
I did the computer reset procedure of touching the positive terminal with the negative for 30 sec. Now the car wont start. Check engine light never turns off. And trying to start the car it sounds like bad battery. " tak tak tak" repeated sound. Oops what just happened
You do not need to disconnect both terminals, the official procedure is to disconnect the neg. and touch the pos. to discharge capacitors. But it does sound like your battery is bad. Try disconnecting it and charge for 24 hrs.
Yea did it like u just said. The reset worked. All trip indp has reset. But that seems to have killed the battery. No issues with another battery. Going to get a new battery today.
Well, assuming you had at least one terminal disconnected, maybe your battery just decided to die at the moment you touched the terminals. I would say it is much more likely you either did not get the terminals cleaned or connected properly, OR you broke the terninal off inside the battery whilst messing with it!

just replaced the battery and all is good. the old battery tested good 3 times and the technitian was very confused. i kept explaining that with a small mitsubishi battery the car started. but his machine kept saying the old battery was good. after an hour or so of testing and cleaning he gave up and finally went for a new battery to test. and car started right up. and btw batteries went up in price ridiculously.
