Correct Code Reader
I have gone through the threads and there is endless info, but nobody ever reports back on a successful one.
I need to read my ABS codes on my 96 XJR, has anyone had any luck on a scanner tool that's not 5000 bucks?
I was never able to get SDD to work or IDS since I cant afford a adapter for the PC.
Anyone?

ANY code reader that works on ISO 9141 (which means most of them) will work for the standard OBD II codes on an X-300. It will not read manufacturer specific codes or codes from modules other than the ECU.
I know somebody who is selling genuine ford VCM with cables for $700. He had two, I bought one and it works fine. This is the same equipment that JLR dealer would have used back in the day. You'll need a laptop with windows XP. I will gladly help out a fellow forum member with setting it all up and verifying that it all works.
