Cracking at top of glove box
The screws at the top of the glove box often crack the plastic and come loose. This happens with age and vibration. The plastic on an X300 is very very thin,
So I pulled out the glove box and used epoxy to sister some plastic on the back side the top edge of the glove box.
It added about 1mm of new plastic. I used clear plastic from a package of screw drivers I bought about a year ago.
Cut it to shape and epoxied it to the back side of the top of the glove box. I have three X300's This has happened to all three of them around 70-100K miles.
Two of them are now over 190K. This has proven to be a permanent fix. So I did it to my 60K VDP today. And sure enough the cracks were just starting to form.
It's much easier to fix BEFORE it falls out on the floor
