You need to pull the instrument panel off and see if you might have pulled loose one of the cables on the back. pulling the panel off is a piece of cake. 4 screws and it pops right out. I assume it is the one on the left of the panel

G’day Mike,

By kick panels do you mean the ones at the front base of the rear seats?

If so in each fuse box behind those panels is an IGN relay and if these don’t make contact then your car will appear to be dead or partially dead.

Remove and replace these relays and see what happens. They should both click when the ignition is turned on, if no click then they are faulty.

Cheers,
Jeff, Watson.

There is # 5 / 10 amp fuse and # 12 / 5 amp in the LH heelboard fuse box and # 16 / 5 amp in the trunk fuse box that powers the instrument cluster other then the cluster lights .
If you swap left and right fuse box king relays you may see results before looking up the specific fuse # . I blew my fuse on this when I hooked the battery up backwards . Every thing came back to life including the mileage ..

My bet is on the connectors knocked loose and are not fun on the Fwd side
.

Do you mean rear seat kick panels?
There are some earths in funny places, and I had the same problem after having a stereo “professionally” fitted- no instruments afterwards. I then paid even more $$ to get my mechanic to track down a loose earth which from memory was somewhere weird like the transmission tunnel or under the rear seat..

so good luck!

Sorry to jump in, I have the same problem! Car fine Friday morning then when I started it on Friday evening the tachometer went to 1200 the speedo to 28 and volts, fuel, oil & temperature all zero. warning lights all work but trip computer doesn't respond but millage still displayed. cdma, does the instrument panel lift of upwards with the binnacle?

To update i pulled the fuses recommended by Lady P they looked ok and I put them back. The instrument panel now works! Thanks for the good info, it must have been a bad contact.

Ps I forgot to say rechecking I don't think my warning lights had been lighting when I rechecked. I must have been mistaken. All seem ok now
