Default Door issue!

Rear passenger side door will not open from the inside. I assume that the cable or something has slipped or detached. Does anyone have a diagram or instructions for removing the door panel without damaging it and do I have to disconnect the battery as the locking system is electronic? Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Can't help with a wiring diagram unfortunately, but is it possible that it is set to "child proof" thereby not allowing it to be opened from the inside? Funny that its only one door and not both if this is the case. Have you tried locking and unlocking all doors from both inside and outside the car? It does sound as though an actuator may have come disconnected, but I dont know how easy, if even possible it is to remove a door card with the door closed! Sorry not to be of any more help.

you shouldn't need to disconnect the battery.

to remove the door panels, there is a screw underneath a little black cover on the chrome door handle, remove that, then carefully pull the wood paneling towards the front of the vehicle, it should slide out, then two or three screws holding the top panel on, and it comes right off.

the bottom panel is removed by removing the screw on the underside of the pull handle, and the rest of the panel is held in place with plastic rivets, just use a big screwdriver or something to pop them loose.

Default Door Issue

Thanks all!

The child proof setting was in off position but slidding it back and forth fixed the issue for the rear door.

However the driver,s door know doesn't open (not related) so I will be taking that apart so thanks for the info for door panel removal.
