Are the ECM and TCM the same thing?
To the best of my knowledge, and terminology I have heard over many years:
TCM, is for Transmission Control Module.
ECM, is for Electonic Control Module, OR, Engine Control Module, depending on language spoken, and understanding of said language. We Stralians do call things diffeerent to others I believe.
Electronic Control Module could be any module on any car controlling any component, mmmm.
Engine Control Module is quite specific, no matter what badge is on the car.
Transmission Control Module is again, quite specific.

Ok. I've attachted jpg files containing what I'm seeing as the TCM and ECM. I've located the TCM, it was pretty easy right under the glove box. Can anyone tell me where the ECM is located?
I goofed and bought a new TCM thinking it was the ECM.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Pat
