My replacement ecu does not have my auto door lock and safety features programmed into it.Can I fix this someway?

 

Are you sure it's just not communicating with the S&L module?

 

what is the s&l module?

 

Security and Locking module; boot, left side, under fuel filler pipe.


But likely it needs a WDS session to be setup as you like it.

 

can this WDS session be done by me or does it have to be done by my mechanic?

 

Whichever of you has a WDS and the training to use it. Not absolutely certain, but I believe that stands for Worldwide Diagnostic Software. (Ford was fond of the word "World" back in the '90's - used it everywhere) That is the Jag Dealer diagnostic system from that era, later superseded by IDS, unless I have it backwards. Many independent shops have them, now..... well, "some" if not many.
