ECU replacement - 1997 XJ6L
My question is for the unit up under the dash on the front passenger side. Are they specific to the long wheel base cars or year specific?
I suspect mine is not working optimally. Runs fine, no check engine light, however some monitors in the OBDII refuse to reset after a years worth of driving cycles
Thanks!

there’s like a million different configurations and revisions, i have a 96 lwb pcm in my 97. i still have a spare that i replaced for what turned out to be a TPS issue but i can’t guarantee it’ll work good.
unless you have a running issue or emissions testing i’d leave it alone

The unit up under the dash is the Body Processor Unit and can be reset by a hard reset procedure
Below that and in front of the right front door hinge is your engine ECU
The TPS sensor mounting effecting the idle stop voltage back to the ECU must match the ECU " orientation "
This orientation or setting is hard to change or find out what it's set to to get the TPS to match
To get them to match requires some trail and error work unless you are lucky to find a already ECU match
