Default Engine wont start, problem with the injectors?

Hi!
Have something wrong with a Jaguar Sovereign 4.0L 1997. (XJ X300)
It will not start, does not seem to get any gasoline from the injectors.
It came fuel in the hose to the Fuel rail when I turned on the ignition, so I guess the injectors do not open?

There was an error code stored P1621.

What should I troubleshoot to find the error?
All fuses are intact but have not able to find a relay for the injectors, where can I find that??
Is there anything else that could be broken? The DataBox?

Last fall, so started the engine but died after a little while, and since then it has not started and have now been standing since.

Grateful for any advice that can resolve the error!

Regards from Sweden!

What's the tachometer read when you try cranking the engine?

If it reads rpm while cranking, the general conclusion is that the crank sensor must be good. But I gotta say, it wasn't the case with my 97. The crank would read rpms while turning over (2-300), the car had fuel pressure, but acted like it was out of fuel. It would even start occasionally, but then die out like it ran out of fuel. New crank sensor, and it fired right up. Been running great since.

Fuel injection relay down by the RH head light it is grounded by the ECM when the ignition is on check to make sure its energized.

Hi. Thanks for the reply!
The tachometer goes up to about 150 rpm.

Inertia switch has not been activated and the the contacts to the databox looks fine.

Fuel pump works and fuel reaches the fuel rail, but the injectors does not seem to open.
It starts directly with starting fluid, but dies immediately since it does not seem to get fuel through the injectors.
Tried with another relay to the fuel injection system, but there was no difference.

What else could be wrong?
I checked the error codes again today, P1621 had come back after trying to start the engine the last days!

Could it be the data box that is broken?
Can I measure it in some way?

More suggestions?

That code doesn't show up for me on service information. But the code is an engine control module code. Is the code a pending code or is it current?

How long before last fall has that gas been in the tank? The reason I ask is, rancid gas can gum up the injectors and cause multiple injector failures. Only other thing I can think of is the injectors not receiving power.

You change the relay but was it switched on? with the ignition on unplug the relay, you should hear and feel it clicking as you plug and unplug it, if its not switched on check the fuse if you have 12v at the coil pin you can ground the negative pin to switch it on. I had this issue recently

All I can tell you is that my 97 XJR acted just like it was out of fuel. I cut the return hose, installed a tee, and a pressure gauge. Plenty of fuel pressure. My car would turn over, show 200-300 rpm while turning over. A trouble code for the crank sensor never showed up. The crank sensor, along with the wheel sensors are little magnetos. They send a AC signal to the ECU. If that signal is incorrect, it will not trigger the injectors. I don't know what the problem with your car is, but I do know that these magnets are going on 20 years old, and the do degrade over time, and continued heat cycles. Replacing mine caused my car to fire right up. The thread telling us that having rpms is a sign of the crank sensor being good was incorrect on my car.
