Recently purchased a 1997 xj6 sport 3.2. Love the car, my second x300 model.

I need to know a few things please and any help would be grateful.

I need to top up my air con, i see halfords and many others offer these, is this easy to do on a Jag? Are the hoses obvious for locating to top up?
I have run the diagnostic on the air con and it only alarms on error 23 so thats a good start.

Secondly, the kickdown appears to be a bit sluggish, i gather the black rubber stopped under the accel pedal actually plays no role? Do i need to adjust the throttle cable somewhere or clean something?

Does anyone have or know someone who has a spare instrument cluster dimmer. I am missing the little cover on the adjuster on the steering column.

Any feedback on all this would be great.
