Default Fixin up the VDP

So my Jag is having some problems and I'd like to get things fixed up on her before we get into the summer. I am looking for advice/details/ a list of parts from someone who knows what they are doing more than me!

1. Suspension
Front right shock collapsed and ruptured a hose for the power steering. I also have that lovely signature bumping noise in my trunk whenever i go over a pebble or a small crack in the road, so I would like to do both the front and rear suspension. I have a friend thats a mechanic and he has an abundance of tools but no lift, can we do this without a lift? Second, if somebody could tell me the parts I would need (links would be amazing!) I would be extremely appreciative!

2. Power steering
I believe that this will be remedied with a new hose.

3. Trunk is always open! (or so it thinks)
Im having the "Trunk Ajar" issue. Im fairly certain it is because of a broken cable in the hinge. Does anyone know what colour the wire is for the trunk ajar sensor?

4. Thanks so much for the help!!

Default Broken wire for trunk ajar

Fantastic,

When my trunk light was always on, I found that the black wire with white tracer, in the right hinge, was the problem.

I don't know if this is the right way to reference another thread, but in my thread here:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ues-usa-48049/
xjrguy provided some pdf files of the security and locking system.

Good luck!

Suspension can be done without a lift. Ideally a Jaguar spring compressor or a good homemade one for the front suspension. Parts can be seen on Jaguar Classic Parts website but also on the Jaguar Heritage cd which will also contain the worshop manuals for the car (including replacing suspension). I'd advise getting the CD first and read up on the jobs as it always comes in handy. It will tell you which parts should be replaced, eg lock nuts etc.
