Default Flushing 1997 XJ6/X300 Pwr. Steering: How to disable ignition?

I want to use the starter motor in 10-15 sec. bursts without having the engine run. ~fritzwrench

May be pull the fuel pump relay located in the trunk? and btw im not sure what your trying to do, for ps flush you dont really need to disable the ignition or anything

I was also thinking about renewing my power steering fluid. I think I read somewhere that's it's simply a matter of opening the bottom end of the reservoir hose and drain and refill.

Could I also use a pump with a hose to suck it out or does that create any issues? It's a bit less of a mess that way...

Sorry for jumping in on this thread with a new question but maybe someone knows the answer to our related questions

I work at Honda, the way we do it is we have a machine to siphon and fill the fluids, so basicly before we even start we siphon the old fluid out of the reservior and put new fluid in, then we start the car and turn the steering wheel couple of times from lock to lock and we hold the steering wheel at lock position then we siphon the fluid again and put new fluid in, and after couple of times your fluid should be fresh. You can use a big syringe itll work the same.

I have a few bottles of this castrol that apparently should be okay.
