They are fine, but they won't fit a Jaguar X300. Those are made for cars that use sealed beam headlamps, where you replace the whole set up every time it's time for a bulb change. You can buy them at the auto parts store for less money too.

Define "foggy". You can take off the headlamps and clean them, and even disassemble them to wipe the glass lenses (be sure to put them back together with some caulking to seal them again). Just use a VERY soft cloth with no abrasive products on the reflective part of the set up.

Don't expect the X300 lights to be as clear as the 308 headlights. They use different lenses.

So I can actually change the bulbs in x300? I could put in GE Nighthawk Platinums or something? How easy is it to take out the headlight assemblies? I guess I have to caulk the bulk back in? What kind of caulking is that?

What do you mean? The bulbs are just the standard halogen type found in many cars. They fit into a twist-lock base that can be removed by access through the engine bay.

As for foggy lenses, as mentioned they can be removed and cleaned. You don't even need to disassemble them (aside from removing the bulb of course). Just slosh them around in some warm water with a light detergent and rinse thoroughly. If you're still not happy, you can separate the reflector from the lense and polish them individually.

Just be careful when removing the light assembly. They pull off fowards, and are held in place by three ball joints. You should squirt a little WD40 in each to free them up a bit.

Thanks! Are these 9005 or 9006 bulbs?

Ok, so I bought the bulbs, but the lenses are so foggy, you can see that they are all pitted from rocks and stuff.. It would be nice if they were clear, if I wash them out, I can imagine it's not going to be that great of help. It's too bad new ones are so expensive..

I suppose you could polish the outside of the glass lenses to try to remove some of the pitted surfaces. If you're still not happy, you could go through all of the trouble it would be to swap your 300 lenses with 308 lenses. Again, that'd cost a pretty penny.

Out of curiosity, is the swap as simple as changing out the 4 lenses?

Thanks,

I am pretty darn certain that it isn't. You need to replace the whole set up, and do some light rewiring. It should provide better headlight projection.

Thanks.

I couldn't pass this up for $75. Problem is, I do not have a Jaguar yet. Tomorrow that might change...

The assembly has broken tabs, but the globes are nice. I compared the globe mounting points to photos of a XJ6 globe and they look very similar. I will attempt the swap the globes first. Wiring is not a problem IF any modifications are needed. I just need to get my hands on a XJR first!
