Default Which forum to use?

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and need a little help. I've recently purchased a 1997 XJ6 Vanden Plas with the 4.0 strait six in it. I do not see an XJ6 forum for this year. Which one do I need to go to?

Your car is known by an intrnal Jaguar design code as the X300. The X300 was the XJ engine/body series built for 3 years 1995 - 1997. So, you're in the right place at this very moment!

The inline 6 in the X300 is known as the AJ16, one of the best Jaguar has built, IMO. I have a 96 VDP and love the car.

I think we might even extend what Stevetech says about the AJ16 engine.
IMO it is the best engine ever made by Jaguar!

The AJ6 was very, very good, and the AJ16 just put cream on top. The old XK straight six was OK in its early years but from the 70s onwards went down hill in a big way with blocks cracking between the bores and much besides. The V12 was good but you needed to be a millionaire to buy the petrol ( at least here in England !). One V12 feature never given any prominence is the con-rod big-end design. The bearing width is too narrow for the diameter so oil pressure must be high to stop the bearings running dry. I believe standard V12 oil pressure is 70 psi, whereas the 6s get by on 35-40
