Front coil springs for XJR6 (X306)
The front coil springs (road springs) for my 1996 XJR6 are No Longer Available from Jaguar, apparently. Part number (US version) JLM12341. Where can I get stock length replacements? I am under the impression that they are different from springs for normally aspirated cars. I believe that XJR sits lower than XJ6 in stock form, but please feel free to correct/educate me on this. I think I have pretty bad negative camber, the front tires are worn on the inside pretty badly, but the outside is not bad. What else should I be looking at?
H&R makes a lowering set for X300, but it may not be stiff enough for the extra weight of the supercharged engine on X306.
KYB lists RE2515 (up to VIN 751044) and RE2516 (starting with VIN 751045) which is different VIN cutoff from Jaguar. And they list the SAME springs for N/A and supercharged, which can't be right.

The XJRs did have a lower ride height....but USA market XJRs were not as low as ROW XJRs.
There is a ride height spec in the service manual, of course, and it covers several build configurations but all of them (as I recall) as shown as "+/- 10mm" which is enough tolerance to overlap or obviate the various different specs!
So...…
If you're camber is far enough out-of-spec to cause a tire wear problem it probably isn't due to the springs unless they're broken or are sagging unusually badly.
Perhaps a sagging subframe? Or wear in the ball joints and bushings? Or a stack-up of issues?
I'd get the camber checked first to see just how bad it really is. Or isn't. My XJR (and all my other Jags) always had visible negative camber but I never had a tire wear problem.
Incorrect toe-in can also cause uneven tire wear, by the way.
Let's hear what others have to say
Cheers

Doug, thanks for the info, I appreciate it. +/- 10mm is a fair amount, so I think you are right about other issues causing the tire wear. The car could use a new set of suspensions bushings, judging by the clunking noises. The roads in greater Boston area leave much to be desired, to put it politely. They haven't been kind to the old cat.
I'll have the suspension looked by a specialist.

I just got my new front coil springs from these guys in the UK. Shipped to my US shipping address in 4 days. Contact them to see if they can help.

One of the front springs broke on my XJR, I had some springs off a 3.2 sport in my garage so put them on, quite a job. When I lowered the jack it was almost on the bump stops The supercharger set up and GM transmission must add a fair bit of weight! At the time original springs where something like £500 each from memory, so I had some made for under £300. They where rubbish, too low and broke after a couple of years of little use. Fortunately, by that time British parts or SNG Barret were selling XJR spec springs for a reasonable price - I am pleased with them - and also got a pair to replace the sagging rears. I used two of the 4,5 mm plastic spacers on the front as I wanted to raise the car a bit, there are some excessive speed bumps around, Hopefully they will be able to supply the correct items.
