Default Front lower shock bushings

Was looking for genuine lower shock bushings for my new x300. I found part number CAC74851in another thread but the only one I can seem to find genuine is on eBay a the seller is asking $1,682 + shipping for one. I replaced them with aftermarket a couple years ago and they didn’t last that long. My question is, has anyone had any luck with these PowerFlex bushings?
My thoughts are, if I can’t find genuine at least these are easier to get in and out every time they go bad. Although they are more expensive than the aftermarket by far. My hopes is they last longer then the aftermarket to justify the $47 asking price.

No experience with PowerFlex

Looks like Jaguar is still selling the bushings for about $41/each although I'm not sure of the quality/longevity.

The JLR bushes are good quality, and seem to be lasting well. I have been down this particular rabbit hole, and wasted a lot of time looking for a knock from the front suspension having ruled out the recently replaced aftermarket bushes…..

Go with the polybushes for it, its one of two places where they work well in Jag suspension, the other being upper wishbone bushes. As you found out the replacement aftermarket are made of just normal rubber and are complete rubbish and don't last longer than a year. The genuine bushes are made from different type of rubber(metalastic), much harder and are very hard to press in, I broke an M10 pressing bolt while doing it, you will also need to slightly grind down the lower wishbone around the bush socket to fully press it, otherwise its impossible to press them in fully with a push pull sleeve/socket set, basically it will stick out 2mm on one side and the shock then is in a slightly wrong position.
Polybushes are incredibly easy to fit, you basically press them in with your hands and they work very well there.

The packaging was JLR branded, but I don’t remember any branding on the parts.

I installed Poweflex lower shock bushings ( PFF27-403) in 2017 in my car, for some reason there was a interference issue with the polyurethane parts collar and the lower wishbone( memory is slightly vague, most likely due getting punched in the head too much in the past) and i had to cut slightly the collar to make them fit. See link shock bushing I have not notice any issues since. Outside the interference the installation was very easy as fellow forum member Katar83 said above.

Poly is good for the lower shock bushes but don't get Powerflex. I've seen threads about every type of their bushings that simply don't fit right in the X300. In my case it was the lower front bushings that were way off, being way too small for the A-arm. They still sell the same set and it is dead wrong. They are very careless in their design of the parts for the X300.

Decided to give the poly bushes a try. Although I did buy from PowerflexUSA before I saw the last warning from sleekjag. Looks like there is an interference issue with these PowerflexUSA bushings according to AnttiM but the work around looks simple enough. Thanks for the input everyone.

G'day Gents,

I had continual problems with my lower front shock bushes and went through several sets in pretty short order.

I ended up completely stripping the rubber out of a faulty bush, by burning it out, and then I sourced a poly bush which was the right size to push into the outer metal part of the OEM bush. Then I drilled it to accept the inner metal part of the OEM bush and before I assembled it I lubed it with the grease supplied with the poly bush and fitted it to my car.

The outer metal part of the OEM bush has a couple of grooves in the inner surface which would prevent the poly bush from slipping and the inner metal part has a ridge at the mid point which would serve the same purpose. Unfortunately I don't have any pix of my handwork.

Obviously I did this for both front bushes and that was around fifteen plus years ago and I have had no problems since. There was no noticeable difference to the ride quality.

Cheers,
Jeff.
