It boggles my mind when I see folks putting $10 or $20 of gas in their cars. You mean you fill up every few days? What a waste of time. You can always make more money, you can never recoup wasted time. I let it go till it's between 1/4 to 1/8 tank left and fill to the brim. You're going to pay for it sooner or later, so why not spend less time filling up? The most I've put in is 70 litres.

i agree.
It is one of my small material pleasures that I can fill the tank and not worry about the cost. I have had the days when I put $2, $5, $10 in the car when I was a student. Now I just love the sight of the gauge needle on "F"

Filled my XJR with 99 octane yesterday. US$100 for half a tank. But I have found a great way of saving fuel money: just have such a crappy health, that you are unable to drive. 217 km done since nov 27. That's 135 miles. So the cost of fuel isn't of big importance when you are 45, going on 80
