Gasket worries
My 3.2 X300 has split a coolant hose twice, the same one each time and it is now replaced. However, a friend pointed out that it split when I really booted it, foot to the floor at modest speed like 50 mph and of course it goes off like a scalded cat.
I assumed it was just the water pump working harder that raised the pressure and split the pipe while he mused if it was a head gasket leak causing pressure.
No oil in expansion bottle.
No water in oil
Water level constant
But I haven't booted it since fitting the new hose. I have run it at 4,000 rpm but not played the hooligan.
Any thoughts?
Mike

You can use this from Frost UK to check for head gasket leaks (not cheap at £46.00)
Block Tester Kit for Petrol and Diesels Cylinder Heads / Gaskets | Frost Restoration. Or I believe that you could maybe get a garage to quickly check for combustion gases present in the expansion tank using an exhaust gas analyser.
