Headlight bulbs
Hi all,
One of my headlight bulbs in gone and I would like to replace the pair. Can anyone recommend good bulbs?
Are there any particular ones I need and also are they tricky or straight forward to install in a x300.
Many thanks.

I use Sylvania bulbs. They seem as good as any other <shrug>.
Replacement is just a matter of reaching in from behind, unplugging the connector, twisting the bulb fixture to release it, and installing the new bulb. Smaller hands help here.
Or pop the entire head lamp out from the front for easier access. Some force is required to release the head lamp from the ball-socket mountings. It's a bit of a "cross your fingers" type of thing because sockets a bit on the fragile side.
Cheers

I've seen positive reviews on Osram night breakers.
The most important thing to remember during installation, is not to soil the bulb, otherwise it'll crack at high temps. Do not touch the glass. If you touch it or accidentally brush it against any oily surface in the engine bay, you need to take it out and clean with alcohol.
I would not advise taking the whole headlight assembly out. Installation via the engine bay isn't particularly difficult.

So I fitted the lights fine. But after fitting them the car would not start properly!! Always starts first time usually.
It just lost power if I managed to turn over the ignition.
Luckily its running fine now.No idea why. Any idea how replacing the bulbs would affect the car like this, if only temporary?
