Headlight question...
hi everyone, I just notcied my highbeam headlight on my x300 was falling from its housing. The glass part was falling from the other part of the headlight. Is this something common with the headlamps?? maybe some glue?? cause the clips seem like they are intact on the housing, but the glass lamp keeps falling out from its housing, please advise, thanks.
I'd get some caulking and reattach it. You'll need to carefully remove the assembly first. Very carefully! I had this issue, and my lens broke. I don't know if it's common, but it is certainly something you'll want to fix now before it falls out.
There are some threads around here where people have deliberately separated the lens from the housing by heating them in the oven. You might want to check those to determine what material they used for reassembly.
I used high temp silicone glue/'gasket maker'.
NOTE: You'll be tempted to polish up the reflector surface whilst the light assembly is apart, so be VERY gentle. Otherwise the silver coating will rub off! I was only dabbing very lightly with a damp cloth, and suddenly I was through to the plastic casing.
