Headlining rear clippage?
Hi all,
My '96 XJR had a brand spanking new fibreglass backed headliner installed by the p.o. - there seems to be some clipping missing from the rear near the rear screen?
I'm familiar with the XJ40 arrangement with the closing strip but not the X300. There seems to be some facility for square bezels but the fabric has not been cut. There also seems to be corresponding brackets on the roof but there aren't any plastic nuts in them. I would guess one of those recessed square plastic things goes into the square hole in the headlining?
Jaguarclassicparts online catalogue isn't much help in this area as it just shows the complete headliner. I can't seem to see it in the undrawn parts list either.
Any help most appreciated.....
Simon

Hello Simon,
I know those square plugs go into the square holes! They are supposedly anchors for the rear sunblinds that most of us don't have. Sure could use some here! Anyway, I haven't done my headliner, but assume those plugs would add to the headliner support, by pressing into the metal roof. If the sunblinds were in use, the anchor would have to be reasonably strong. I don't know about anchors underneath the headliner, but others here will. Many have done this job recently.
