Hi all first post here, I am rebuilding a power steering rack for a friend, I have managed to get it completely disassembled. However I am stumped as to how I access the seal located about the mid point, I suspect there is an inner tube that can be removed so the seal can be accessed, But I cannot figure out how to get it out, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! This is the seal I am referring to down the bottom.
The question becomes If a leak in the area is from the reservoir bottom clamps migrating leakage all over the right side . you can cut off an inch from the old compromised swished hose for fresh material
Or just the outer most seal on the steering rack that can be changed without rack removal
The steering rack noise / cavitation can be resolved with a drain / refill as the noise goes away with fresh fluid

I've got a spare rare x305 (V12 x300) steering rack I pulled in a wrecking yard I'd like to rebuild. I see Rock Auto has 3 varieties of pump rebuild kits, anyone got an opinion on which is best as I've read about issues with seals not fitting.
I used the Edelmann kit for my pump a few weeks back. Everything fit fine but there was one extra O ring I couldn’t figure out where it went… so I didn’t use it. Didn’t help my power steering issue since I think it’s the rack at this point…. But at least the pump is taken care of. Recommend using a zip tie or rubber band to keep the vanes on the pump rotor held in place when you disassemble

Thanks. Did you take any photos while disassembling?
I did not. However searching the forum here I was able to find some prior threads on rebuilding the pump. One had a you tube video in it which was helpful.
