RE: Highest mileage
My mothers Daimler 6.0 i close to 200.000miles, just over 320.000km. No rust and almost mint interior, the first owner used it to drive Germany to Italy and back a few times a week so even though it has many miles it is still in good condition apart from the many stonechips.

RE: Highest mileage
I have 206,000+ miles on my 95' XJ6 and it has given me few problems, as a matter of fact, most of the problems I have encountered have been my own un-doing.. Great car, and even at 13 years old, she still looks good in the country club parking lot next to the younger generation fine auto's... This car will not be sold ever, I will drive it to it's grave...

RE: Highest mileage
My MY97 VDP needed a good $6K-worth of repairs to get it up to my high standards when I took over ownership back in Aug 07, but I gotta say, it's about to turn over 50K miles now and runs like it's brand new. The other day on the interstate the engine was literally purring. While the car is not really my style (I'm more of a fast, nimble roadster type) I must say this car has grown on me and I'm proud to drive it.

RE: Highest mileage Jags, xk owners post up too!
I was pleasantly suprised to read so many high mileage jags still kicking. Gives me some confidence going over 76,000 miles right now on my '03. What I am most concerned about is the 'sealed for life' transmission. I keep flipping back and forth on this dilemma. I have no doubt the engine will remain strong well into the 100s though. Good post.

I owned a 1996 Vanden Plas for 7 years, got it at 63k and drove it up to 123k when it got hit in August of this year by a red light running idiot. Drive train was rock sold, all original and smooth as silk. Build quality on these cars is fantastic and as long as well maintained are wonderful old cars.
The other big advantage is that since the value is so low, not only are they great buys - but like my car, if it gets hit, it is almost a guarantee total loss from the insurance company point of view. This means there is an abundance right now of used parts available on line especially on Ebay. This is the perfect time to restore one of these if you have one a little rough cosmetically - trim pieces, electricals, seats, sheet metal, even the many ECUs are all available today cheaper than they have ever been. I have seen main engine computers going on Ebay for $50 or under.
Anyway, wish I could keep playing this game since I am sure this car would have gone many, many more miles on the original engine/trans/rearend, Jaguar really came up with a winning combination and it seems only now to being really well appreciated how great these cars are.

just rolled over 170k on mine
I commute about 50 miles each way, but since I am not due into the office until about 10am I miss all the rush hour. I have put about 40k on it so far and she is smooth as glass at 90 on the freeway. Great mileage too. Probally going to keep her and see how many miles I can log.

Highest mileage
Volvos are legendary for their high mileage ability but I cant help but wonder how the current crop of computer controlled everything V70s will cope. And the XC has even more complications to make long term ownership potentially quite daunting - especially without warranty cover. So, who has done the highest miles in an XC?? My 98 is approaching 88K miles, not kilometres. Im sure thats nowhere near the highest??
