My 1997VDP has 205,300miles as of this evening. The Nautilus is still going full steam ahead.

My 1995XJ6 has 176,458miles.

Both of them are daily drivers. My son, (Captain Nemo) drives the Nautilus and I drive the green machine.

Today I replaced the front wheel bearings on the 95, did it last spring for the 97.

I plan to get 500k out of each. I drove the 97 for a year and a half before I fixed it up and gave it to my son.

Myself and 3 friends have or have had X300 XJR's, and all are well above 100K and going strong. Mine is at 123K, the others are: 135K, 199K and Mark traded his on a 2009 XF at 137K. The 199K car in in our shop right now for a tune, plugs and fuel filter, steering rack, rear shocks and four Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires.

None of them have ever had the superchargers touched except for checking to be sure of no SC oil leakage.

Awesome cars, they just never quit if they are maintained.

Cheers,

This is all very encouraging fellas!
Some very impresive stats.
I would be lucky to do 6,000 miles a year.

The Jag wreckers near me are struggling to find cars to wreck as they tell me they are too reliable!

You fellows are just getting your XJ6 broken in! Mine has 236,000 miles and is on original engine and transmission. The engine uses about a qt of oil every 3 to 4 thousand miles and there are some valve noises at startup. Major (?) work- sunroof track, rear end rebuild, driver's seat, heater matrix, headliner, tps, a couple of coils. Currently needs ac, idle stepper (I think!!) sunroof panel cover (didn't do it when I did headliner) . I have a spare engine and transmission that will never go in, I guess, since the body and interior is getting tired.
The drivetrain seems bulletproof n these cars.

Hi Gus, I have the exact same car. I love it and it has 109,000 miles. It would be helpful if you would list all the things you did to the car over it's life. Or at least the major ones. That way we can all anticipate what to look out for.

You are not going to believe it but all I replaced was a powering steering hose, battery, tires and brakes. I did have the trans serviced but no major repairs. Oh, forgot right wheel bearing and the security chirping that did not chirp and the heater pump needed cleaning. I did love that car, it ran great and responded each and every time I wanted it to. The only bad thing with that car was the paint.

Well, I am feelin' pretty good about my XJ6 right about now haha. I have 127k on mine. In the process of doing some work on mine though because it sat for awhile by the previous owner. Have a feeling I'll have mine for awhile especially since mine doesn't get driven in the winter.
