Default How to change rear O2 sensors? (X305 XJ12 MY95)

As stated in my video I recently released about this 1995 XJ12 I recently bought, the previous owner cut the center section of the exhaust off the car for some unknown reason. And when he did that he just cut the wires for the rear O2 sensors. Today I crawled under the car to see how to connect those back up and discovered that these sensors are placed really far back on the car. Do the wires for the rear O2 sensors actually connect into the wiring harness somewhere in the rear of the car? Like maybe in the luggage compartment? Or are the connectors somewhere under the carpet in the interior?

I don't know where the connectors are, but I do remember reading that the wires, which cross at the sensors, remain crossed as they go forward.

I love seeing people working on the V12 car but you would get more information if you posted in the correct forum!

Good luck on your restoration

On rear sensor change the sensor connector on the car side will have 4 color wires with 3 the same the 4th wire color determines the sensor position

See page 66 , we'll use the 1996 V - 12 as a cleaner wiring print

Well that was dumb. The connectors for those O2s are literally 6 inches away, tucked inside the body above the pipes. They can be pulled out and disconnected easily (aside from getting under the center of the car). I posted about this in the X305 section not too long ago. Rock Auto has new rear O2 sensors for less than 20 bucks apiece, with the correct connector on it.

Maybe the exhaust was cut out to remove the transmission. Although cutting it out would also be a HACK job.

Default I agree, really stupid to cut the wires.

As I said the previous owner was a real hack artist. Thanks for the pictures and the pointers to the replacement sensors on rockauto
The previous owner told me that he cut the exhaust because he was going to remove the engine to put into his Ford F150 pickup truck,
I felt that I HAD to buy the car to get it out of his hands.
