Default how to remove door sill plates?

I need to pull up the carpet in the rear of my 1997 XJ6 to fix a rust hole. I have pulled the passenger's seat out of the car and the trim on the B-pillar but I need to remove the door sill plates next. I thought the "=====JAGUAR=====" stainless steel trim plates were just held on with magnets but I am not able to get them to come off by prying at the edge and I am bending this plate in trying to do this. Is there a trick to getting these off so I can get to the screws underneath that stainless trim panel?

Any hints or suggestions would be most welcome.

Default O so gently

is the way...they're stuck on with double sided tape, and they are very thin. Best to use a hair dryer and pull up progressively.
Good Luck !
