I think I'm going crazy
Hey Guys, I have a 95 XJ6 with a dead battery. I have been looking and looking for the positive connection in the engine comparment to jump it but can't find it for the life of me. I thought it wassupposed to be on the firewall, at least that's where it was on my 94 XJ6. Can anyone give me an exact location for it?
Connect the positive end (red) clamp of the jumper cab directly to the positive terminal ON the battery, rather than a remote terminal.. but DO NOT connect the ground (black) clamp directly to the battery.. connect the ground to any unpainted/bare metal connected to the body or the frame of the car.. Hope that helps, Eric
THEYRE THE STUDS ON BOTH FUSE BOXES IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT LEFT AND RIGHT. REMOVE THE RUBBER BOOTS OVER THE 13MM NUTS AND CLAMP AWAY, OPUT THE NEGATIVE ON THE ENGINE SOMEWHERE
Thanks for the replies Eric and Brutal.
Eric, I'm sorry I wasn't a little more detailed in my post, because the problem is that I can't get at the battery. It's electronically locked in the trunk.
Brutal, I was looking at those studs but the wires leading to them are black so I wasn't sure. I'll try them this evening when I get home from work and let you know how that worked.
Thanks again guys, I really appreciate it.

Hey Brutal, Thanks alot for the info. It worked. I got in the trunk and have the charger on the battery right now.
And Doug, I've got the key lock soaking in penetrating oil right now too.
Thanks again guys.
