Ignition Coil Gaskets - Are They Necessary?
Hey Everybody,
I just replaced a coil and gasket on my '97 XJ6. And then I was looking at my '96 XJ6 and noticed that it didn't have any coil gaskets. I've had that one for four years now with no coil/spark issues, so what's the consensus on this? Should I order up 6 new gaskets, or were they designed with a moist British climate in mind?

Choice belong you, as we said in Papua New Guinea.
NO, they are not critical, UNLESS you wash your engine regularly, or at all, and then the gaskets apparently keep the washing water out of the plug holes.
My 3.2ltr had 3 out of 6 and they were in various pieces, now none, no effect on the engine, I doubt it even knows they are missing haha.
