Default Ignition Module???

Does anyone know if an ignition module exists on a 1997 XJ6? It seems power to my ignition is cutting out intermittently causing all of my dash lights to come on and go off periodically and also causing the car to sputter and sometimes stall. I thought it would be a crankshaft position sensor but a local jag tech suggested it sounded more like an ignition module. Can't find a reference to ignition module on alldata.com either.

Thanks for any help,
Pat

Well, your "local jag tech" is either full of it or is confused about the name of the ECU, which has the coil drivers. I suspect it is the ecu power relay causing your problem. I do not know off hand where it is, but I think it is one behind the left headlamp. Someone else can probably help, but I sure as hell would keep my car away from the"tech".

Thanks for the warning. If anyone can identify the correct relay for me that would be great.
