To remove the fuel rail from the injectors you don't want the fuel rail to "get away from you " and bend
You can use a wooden stick to lever the rail off with more control but you don't want to put it up against the edge of the valve cover , least breaking the edge
While you have the injectors off there is a easy trick to running some pure spray cleaner through them using a spare injector connector off a trunk dome lightI
t's a EV - 1 series connector
A cleaner containing X is best and only use fuel resistant O - rings , you can use vasoline as an assembly lubricant to prevent O - ring damage on reinstallation
Smooth out the seats the fuel resistant O - rings seal into

It is pretty intuitive, but as Parker highlights, controlled use of force and leverage is key. With the fuel rail removed, it is essentially only "sticktion" between the injector seals and the inlet manifold which is holding them in, and their attachment is basically binary; they are in place until the seal is broken, and then they come totally free. Forget any horror stories you may have heard about removing diesel injectors, these are pretty simple, and new seals are pretty cheap.
Injectors have been removed and the filters/o-rings replaced and thoroughly cleaned. Service shop said all injectors are working perfectly. Can't wait to try them on.
The O - rings should have a green / black tint color in them
Lube the O - rings before installation and clean the head side of the receptacle as some corrosion may accure as water sits above the O - ring as it is installed over the years
Damages the new O - rings on insertion
This is one area that you want to do a leak check with talcum powder or foot powder

Ok thanks. Just wanted to make sure they did not operate on a reduced voltage. I may give them a clean with a little cleaning jig and run some injector cleaner through .

These are the o-rings I have and they look the same? Which one goes on top and which one is the bottom? The factory rings were both black.
We may have only had them colored in aircraft because of regulation and tightly controlled but a black one would still be suspect to counterfeit in my opinion
But my career was not in automotive, and we had different types of fluids
The hydraulic fluid was fire proof and would be used up to 5000 psi on fighter jets
You would have to mic out the ID of the O - rings against the OD of the groves to know for sure where they go
