Default My injector cleaning results

Over the past several years I have had an issue with an uneven idle on my 99XK8 with no codes relating to this issue. I had replaced all the plugs and coil packs and decided to send my injectors in to be tested and cleaned. I got them back installed them and the car idles the way it should smooth and even. 139,000mi.

I am attaching the report I got from Injector RX. They called with a report on the injectors and a printout with the before and after results. Great results and good people to deal with.

The question is, how did you get tem out without breakage? I tried on a used manifold as a test and managed to damage them all

For me it was go slow and easy. I rocked them back and forth a lot in order to get them out. One thing I accidentally did on my XJR replacing an injector is that I put the key in the ignition before installing the retaining clip. This pressurized the rail and my injector shot right out of the hole lol. That might be a scary option for doing one offs!

Taking them out was not so difficult I removed the bolts holding the fuel rail then lifted the rail with the 4 injectors. Then removed the power rails from the injectors. Once that was done I removed the retaining clips from the top of the injectors to the rail. Now the hard part pushing the injector away and out of the fuel rail. That was a little tricky. I would hold the rail and push the injector and wobble/rock it until it came out not all were difficult to remove. The hard part was reinstalling them. I put a little lubricant on the rail opening to help the "O" to slip back in and the rest was easy. What I made sure of is that the area the injectors go into the manifold was clean for a proper seal.

This is a good read! I am not suggesting you purchase any of the products just a good read. I have heard of the Ethanol separating and gel in the tank and wanted to know a little more about it.
