Just took off all four of mine Sunday to change out all the speakers, very straight forward and not too hard at all. Follow the directions in the sticky.

Use a tool behind the clips as they are easily broken. You won't find their replacements in the local parts store.

This worked well for me - Panel Clip Pliers

If you do break a clip however, check your local professional auto paint and body supply house though, they usually carry a wide selection of clips and plastic "rivits".

If it is loose at the bottom, you probably have one or more of these already broken:
Robot Check Robot Check

I do, and my lovely wife got me some replacements a coupla Christmases ago...but I've yet to get round to mending it. Only an issue when it is really hot and it comes loose at the bottom and clamps the door from opening...you have to juggle-jiggle it awhile to get it open - catches against the sill plate.

(but they were only $3.69 ea then)

Angry Door Panel?

Hey Fella's....I cant get my door panel off to replace my speakers...I tried to follow your discussions but I have a few questions....What is a sticky? I cant find the screws holding the door handle on. Only found one....there was exposed holes on the rear door panels but the front I cant get off and only found the one screw....I know it should be easy but I cant find how to remove the screws which is the first thing you gotta do....? can you help?

A sticky is a thread/subject that is always at the top of the section.....it's "stuck" there. In this case, go to the top of this (X300) section and look for the 'sticky' titled "How To". Open it up and scroll down. You'll find an entry titled "Door panels". Click on that and you should have all you need

Cheers

Stickies are a couple of threads at the top of the X300 section with links to how-to's, manual and parts-book downloads, TSB's, etc....but if you click the link I put in post #2 above, you don't need to know what/where the stickies are, it will take you to the door-panel how-to with pics

Doug's faster....

IIRC, there is only one screw in the front handles, you are probably being stymied by the big spring clip in the plastic anchor. Study the pics and take your best shot. I got exceedingly lucky in getting my first one off without breaking the plastic, which allowed me an opportunity to study what I was facing so the fact that I didn't break the second one was more informed activity than pure luck. My advice would be to rock it fore/aft using the handle while lifting upward on the panel. Don't try pulling outward until you feel that plastic anchor slide free of the sheet metal.
