Instrument cluster flickers

I haven't removed it, but am taking the car over to my brother in laws this weekend - he has a car lift in one of his out buildings I'll take a look. Is the IPM accessable from under the car? I'm hoping so.

The binnacle is the cluster of instrumentation just over the steering wheel and is immediately accessible while sitting in the driver's seat. There are just a few screws to remove to free it.

Believe it or not I had the same problem and it was a bad coil, the car was running well but if you raise your hood at night in total darkness you will see the bad coil, it gloss. I replace it and problem, I read this in this forum and i did not believe it but he was right BAD COIL

Quite an old thread the OP likely isn't following anymore... but still good advice as this happens to owners every so often and elicits quite a bit of frustration and head scratching.

Instrument "light shows" have often been traced back to a bad coil. Odd but true
