Default Interior alarm sensors

Having searched various places and unable to find the answer, I need to remove the interior alarm sensors on my 1996 X300 Sovereign.

These are the ones that sit in the headliner above the B pillars.

It looks like they just pull out but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Any help appreciated.

I was at these sensors some time back when recovering my headliner. From memory, the outer cover just unclips, being held in place by little short tangs on each of the longer sides.
These tangs clip into a base plate, which houses the actual sensor. The sensor is held in place onto another base plate, fitted behind the headliner roof panel, with two plastic rivet devices, which would be a push fit during assembly. You will see the heads of these rivets, partially covered by the sensor. Ideally, letting the roof liner down a little is the best approach, so you can then push the rivets through from the back side, where they pass through a plastic rectangular back plate. They are very soft material, easily damaged if you try to pull them out from the front.

I have some pics from my refurb and will try to post them when I find them!

Hrmm, we have "interior alarm sensors"?

Are these motion sensors? I had no idea..... now I'll have to go look.

I swear I discover something else weekly that that these cars do or have as a function!

Kinda like Christmas

Given the differences in alarm/immobiliser set up between UK and US cars, you may, or may not have these sensors.

Ah, yep went and looked for some sort of "sensor" above the B pillars and nada....

Those sensors are probably part of the "deadlocking" feature, etc that US cars don't have.

If you trash the fir trees pulling the sensors out (and you will), Jaguar will sell you new ones. I can dig the part number out if you need it.
