I have a 1995 XJ I bought new and a 1996 VDP. It has been my experience that there is no radio code to input.

US Market X300's don't normally have radio codes, though occasionally someone reports they do. Rest of world, maybe.

RivGuy, you shouldn't have to worry about it. OP, if anyone can decipher your location, then it shouldn't be hard at all for them to divine your radio code, as well!

There are many threads about the Radio Code and ways to recover them if they came with a security code in some markets. Very few X300s are using the original radio unit so chances are the code might have been written down somewhere else, on the unit itself (have to remove the radio to see it) or somewhere (e.g. on the owner's manual, under the bonnet, carpet, inner sill, etc. My recent thread Radio Code Recovery has more details.

When I swapped out the radio from my donor car into my daily driver I also needed the code. I rang my local Jaguar main dealer and gave them the vin from my daily driver, presumably to verify that I was the bona fide owner of the car. I also gave them the serial number which was on the replacement radio and within a few minutes they were able to give me the code. And it didn't cost me a penny! I'm based in Ireland FWIW.

I am afraid that because of the lapse of time the Jaguar Global Database no longer carries radio codes of pre-1997 Jaguar, so forget about seeking help from your dealer. There are several on-line resources to find the code for you if you are willing to pay a small fee. Read my post referenced above.
