Leather repair & trim codes
Evening all
My drivers seat is now heavily cracked and the side bolster wearing thin. No complete tears yet but its a matter of time unless I do something about this. I've seen some kits on-line with cleaning products, filler, finish colour, sealer etc. - has anyone tried this as against replacing the seat or expensive re-trim?
Also how could I find my trim colour code - is it part of the VIN? Or otherwise printed somewhere?
Many thanks
Sam.

A frequent problem and a regular topic on the forums. Here's an example:

Lots of discussion in X100 and X308 forums.
Look for the three letter trim code - usually on the manufacturer's label on the door pillar. This supplier has most of them:

I found a guy on ebay who sells used seat backs. The foam and the leather come off as one, and it is a very quick and simple job to change them over. The particularly useful discovery I made is that the drivers and passengers seat backs are interchangeable. Most drivers side bolsters will be showing the signs of age, but there seems to be a plentiful supply of passenger side bolsters which can be used. I dont have a link to hand, but I found him by googling X300 seats or something like that, so he wasnt hard to find.
