Default ""Lights On" multiple beeps when headlights off, door open

After turning off the engine and removing key, car starts beeping when I open driver's door. Doesn't stop beeping until I close door. Doesn't matter if lights are on or off.

Before, it would only beep when headlights were on.

There is no beeping when other doors open, just driver's door.

Is there a disable "door open" beep option?

Maybe related: when locking the door with key, a single beep (setting the alarm?) seems to happen randomly. Most often there is no single "alarm set" beep.

thanks.

Does the car recognize that the gear selector lever is in PARK????????????????
Is the Key Lock Cylinder Switch Flap Not Fully Closed??????

There are several reasons for the ERROR beeping.

Default maybe lock switch flap

The "Not in Park" beeping is different. That works (I do it about once a month

This sounds just like the "Lights are On" beeping. But now always when the car is off and the driver door is open.

It could be the lock "Switch Flap Not Fully Closed"... is there a test/fix for that?

thanks. J

spraying some electrical-contact cleaner inside steering-wheel keyhole fixed it... probably some sort of key-sensor switch dirty. Thanks!
