Default Looking for OBD-II for 97 XJ6

I have beeen looking around an I would appreciate any suggestion on either a portable Reader or a software based one.

The cheaper the better since I am only using it for my own Jag and not as a mechanic.

I have terrible mileage and I am suspecting the O2 sensor but I need to make sure before I spend the money.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You don't define "cheap" so I'm not sure my recommendation of Innova's 3130c meets your price requirements, but the reader is all I need for diagnosing codes, erasing them, and even viewing live data. I bought mine from Walmart.com online for about $150 incl. shipping. It works on my 1995 XJ6 and should work on your 1997.

There are multiple threads on this topic on this forum, though, and you might find a reader for less that does what you need.

Check this link:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/g...-%2A%2A-33347/

It covers simple Code Readers through to high end Scan Tools such as AutoEnginuity.

Most importantly it tells you what members have found does or doesn't work with Jaguars.

I have a WiFi odb2 adapter with software on my iPad.

Works fine with live data, temps, codes etc. However that is on a Rover 75 Diesel.

Will check it when I collect my 1996 X300 sovereign 3.2

Total cost £55.00
