Default Manual gearbox problem!

Hi there! Some of you probably followed my build + adventure thread already.
Today I decided to get my bum underneath the big kitty and check the fuel lines, which were marked on last MOT as rusty... And after having a proper look at them, I realised that bloke inspecting the car last year must have been just an annoying tosser... Nothing serious with the fuel lines, so I don't have to replace them, there's just some surface rust, so as long as I clean them gently with wire brush and cover them with some Hammerite, they'll be fine.
But while there, I've found something more worrying! And this would actually explain why there was less than 0.5l of oil in the gearbox last time I changed it!
The back of gearbox, which is attached to the driveshaft, seems to be spitting oil!

As you can see on the second picture, the oil is still red and clean-ish looking, which shows you again, that car was standing and waiting for me for around 9 months, and started driving again only a month ago.

And this picture shows you that rest of the gearbox towards the engine is absolutely fine.

Anyway, I've found a part on Jaguar Classic Parts and hope that someone will shed some light here, is it going to solve the problem of spitting oil?

I guess there's not many people that are able to help me out here but following a simple logic, that this is the only place that is spitting the oil, I guess that the part I've found should be correct one, the rear seal, so I guess I'll just order it and replace it. I'll keep you guys updated how it goes Haven't got a clue yet how to attack that gearbox, but I'll figure it out, as I always do

looks like it's sprayed all over the forward end of the prop shaft. I think you are right. Think of it this way, just some automatic under-body rust proofing.

Good one mate Although my concrete driveway doesn't need that So I shall send an email and try to source new one (hopefully cheaper than from dealer...) and hopefully replace all the parts next weekend, if the weather lasts...

If I remember correctly there is also some connector that always leaks behind there. You can buy the new connector and seal. You should check into that.
