Default Manual steering wheel adjustment - RESOLVED

My '95 has a lever that I pull towards me to adjust tilt. The owners manual says to push the lever down to adjust telescoping. But my lever will not go down.
Can anyone confirm that the lever should go down? I thought this was a great feature when I read the manual, no cable problems, but now I'm not sure.

I could have sworn that reach adjustment is done with the lever in the same position as rake... Might be worth a slight push/pull to see, or perhaps someone else has a better idea!

Thanks, Ziggy. I just went out to check, there's not even a hint of movement.

Nope, it's a separate lever under the column - have another look and see if you have one!

Driver' Handbook confirms pull the lever down:

As far as I recall on my X300, the lever itself was quite stiff (more like a lock than a switch) and it then took both hands on the steering wheel to push or pull it to the required position.

There are two release levers, A&B, per the manual. A is for tilt and B is for reach. You can see in the above illustration that A is on the left side and B is on the bottom of the wheel.

Thanks guys, I didn't understand from the book that i was a separate release. That makes a big difference in driving position.

Thanks for confirming the adjustments it all work as they should.

I've amended your thread title to add 'RESOLVED' to help anyone searching for the same information in future.
