Mirror control problems
Hi guys and gals.
Enjoying a X300, 3,2 1995 with few issues, there is one thing that has
been annoying me for a while.
Problems with my mirrors on both sides, problem has been
there since I bought the car 2,5 years ago.
Using the joystick on the drivers side will make the mirrors
go down and towards the car, but not upwards and away from
the car.
I hear a clicking when activating the joystick, but nothing
happens up and away.
The mirror motors both sides seems to be working since using
the memory function, the mirror will go both up and out.
The window controls and memory function for the seats works
perfect.
My diagnose have been oxidation, so I recently opened the
switch pack (DBC11417 I think it´s called). And sprayed with
electronics cleaner. To no use it seems.
Circuitry and the switch pack looks perfect on the inside.
Any tricks on what to make it work?
Best regards

I suspect your problem is with the mechanism in the mirror rather than the switch.
There are two plastic/nylon cogged bars inside the mirror that move the glass - one for up/down and one for left/right. The cogs mate with the motor drives. The cogged part can get worn out, and can be worn just in one direction (e.g. up only).
You can test this by trying to move the mirror glass manually. You should not be able to move it. If the glass moves manually with very little effort then the adjustment bar inside is worn.

Hi, not resolved yet.
The reason i believe its the switch pack. Is that if i move the Either mirror manualy, they Will go back to correct position when i press the memory button. And thus moving in the dire tion which it wont when operating the joystick.
Sounds reasonably?
