Model year.
Hi, I have a 4 litre XJ300 first registered in 1994. Can anyone please tell me if this model is the same as the 1995 model? Just thought I'd like to check up before I need to order spare parts etc.
Many thanks,
RogerB

The X300 was available in 1995, 1996 and 1997 'model years'. In the UK, we (used to) change the first letter of new number plates on the 1st of August, so that was when the new 'model year' of car became available.
MY95 came out August 1994 (wearing an M plate), VIN 720001 on
MY95.5 came out in around spring 1995 (introducing LWB models), VIN 746818 on
MY96 in August 1995 (N), VIN 754304 on
MY97 in August 1996 (P), VIN 787954 - 812255
MY98 (R) was the V8 X308, but some straight-six X300 MY97 stock hung around for a while and so you will see some on a R plate too.
The rest of the world would have received each revision at around the same time, but again, sometimes there was old stock to clear. When parts changed during the three year run, and there aren't very many to be honest, JaguarClassicParts.com will identify the appropriate vehicles by VIN.
The previous model, the XJ40, was on VIN numbers 500001 - 708757.
