Multiple problems new to me jaguar
So bought a 1995 xj6 vanden plas this past week because I needed something a little more practical then my MGB. I do all of my own mechanic work.
So there are a few problems that it has.
1. The steering wheel tilts but doesn't telescope. I hear the motor running for it to telescope but it doesn't move.
2. The door panel is loose on the passenger side. I already bought new clips. Any tips for replacing them?
3. The trunk doesn't stay open by itself. The guy said that the battery died and when he replaced it then the trunk wouldn't stay open anymore.
4. The headliner in the back is sagging. What have other people done to fix that?

Please don't misunderstand and think I'm insulting you, but your problems are ones that have been addressed many times, and either looking in the DIY sticky on the forum page or using the search function will provide the answers.

+1 to the above. The XJ is a lovely car and pretty bullet proof in many respects, but, it does have its various weaknesses. More by way of an irritation than a major fault or problem and all are (usually) pretty easily rectified.
The issues you listed are all common problems and as advised, a search in the forums will uncover a multitude of fixes. Enjoy your new car, look after it and it will reward you in spades.
PS Unlike you, my MGB is a project and my X300 will always be my daily driver.
