Neutral Safety Switch
It's mounted on the right side of the gearshift assembly. It's actually a multifunction affair....I think it's called a "linear switch" on Jag parlance.
You're having a starting problem, I presume?
I have to jiggle the gearshoft quite ften to start the car. If the "P" is glowing red, the starter will work. If not, I have to jiggle the lever a bit to get the magic red glow.
Fearing that I'll be stranded one day I rigged a remote start button in the engine bay. It bypasses the circuits on the linear switch
There's an adjustment procedure in the manual. I haven't tried it. There's some sort of tool needed...I haven't really researched it too much
Cheers
