One last question:

My 96 XJ6 came with only 1 key. I bought 2 blank keys and will get them cut in the next few days. I assume that these keys have to be programmed? Is there a procedure that I can follow posted somewhere here? I did do a bit of searching on the forum but did not find it.

Theyre not programmed on a 96. Just get them cut and youre done

Bought a cut to order one from Triple-c.com. Read their instructions on how to 'read' the cut on the key, and ordered it.

Received key was plug and play.

 

IN US 96 are not coded but in ROW it is.

There no procedure you need a dealer or a specialist with an Autologic

Been there done that Lost my only working key when the car was standing at the airport parking when i was in the US.. That sucked big time. Ordered new key no probs. And borrowed the Autologic from a good friend. Sorted programmed and working
