Default Nice car

If I were looking for a XJ6 I would be on this one in a hurry.

1995 JAGUAR XJ6

Just look at that valve cover.

What's the significance of that Jag's valve cover?

Cosmetically, mine has the same appearance (despite the recent arcing to spark bore #1).

Many of us have pitted covers, magnesium doesn't hold up that well.

Agreed. I recall this discussed somewhere before, and reconditioning the cover is a pain and would not last long.

Ahhh. okay.

I'm one of the fortunate few, I guess. The cover i just removed to investigate an "oil in the spark plug bores" issue, is spotless. Because Cyl#1 bore is now structurally impaired (only visible from the underside of the cover), I had to buy another cover found on eBay. I've since received it and, it also, looks spotless.

Mine isn't quite that bad, but I ordered a used one via ebay, and will refinish both eventually. Not a quick process, hence the need for buying another.

It's in great shape! Magnesium seems to hate paint. May be why the valve cover gaskets leak.

That looks suspiciously like chemically-induced blistering. Has engine degreaser been used??

Maybe, not sure, I inherited this mess but will fix it during my auto-to-manual conversion project.
