Is that normal? My passenger side just has a panel like the driver's side (without holes for the steering wheel etc.).

 

'94 XJ40s came without glove box in favor of adding pass air bag . In X300s , you should have two air bags with the glove box

 

The earliest X300s were built without a glove box.

At some point Jaguar figured out how to do both airbags and gloveboxes. I think it was around November 1994. My Jaguar literature describes it as a change for the "1995¼ model year".

I've heard rumors of a Jaguar retro-fit kit but good luck finding one...if such a thing really DID exist.

Yeah my '95 XJ6 doesn't have a glove box either, and I thought that was a bit odd, especially considering I'd seen other '95's with... hmm. fancy that, doug. thanks for the info.
