No Heat
I would firstly like to say that I absolutly love this forum and all its members and their vast knowledge. I have had a couple Jags over the years and have found everything I need to know from this forum....that is until now.
I have a '97 xj6 (x300) and the heat is not working. The blower blows air, however it never gets warm. The thermostat on the dash rarley leaves cold as well. The only time I was able to get it off of cold was on a warmer day when I was driving more aggressivly.
Thanks for the help.

After much research I have determined that my first course of action is to replace the thermostat.
However, after searching and searching I can not find information on how to do this. I would greatly appreciate any help.

this likely could be the thermostat, it should be on the front of your engine where the top radiator hose goes in. I've never personally done mine but it should be very simple once you take a look at it

Thanks limegreen.
I found that schematic myself and also used the parts catalog to roughly figure out where it was.
Pulled the cover off and jammed a rag in the housing to stop coolant from comign out. Kinda lazy but it's freezing where I am and I didn't feel like draining the whole system. Anyways pulled the old one out and it was defenitly broken. The back side was cracked in half. Put some gasket sealer on the covering and closed it back up. Topped up the cooling system off and started my car. It warmed up and the needle moved to Normal AND the heat worked!
