Default P1158, p1138

I have reduced the codes showing up on the scanner to just p1158 and p1138 on my 96 x300 with 88000 miles. When the check engine light came back on I was so frustrated because just replaced the 2 oxygen sensors and was sure it was finally ready for inspection. Please help, should I touch the POS n neg terminals to do a reset instead of just clearing the codes or maybe I have the plugs on the end of the oxygen sensors switched by mistake ?

No harm in disconnecting the battery terminals and touching them together, and you wouldn't be the first to get the plugs mixed up.....
