Default Polyurethane or solid motor mounts?

My motor/engine mount on my passenger side looks like it's about to give up.
I've been looking into options for an upgraded mount. After some research I've come across some forums where they convert to either a solid aluminum mount or a polyurethane mount and wondered how well that would work with an x300 XJR.
With these motors being inline 6's I'm assuming they're pretty well balanced and possibly not feel too much shaking in the cabin?

Anyone have any thoughts?

Do you have some pic of the mount? I'm wondering lately if i should change mine too, I do feel slight vibration at idle but in drive its smooth as butter. so whats consider bad on these mount?

This is what my original mount looked like. There was a slight vibration and while accelerating from a red light I could hear a slight thump coming from underneath the car.
I tried to find polyurethane engine mounts but couldn't find any so I got creative and used to hockey pucks to replace the worn out mount

Will be curious to hear how those work out in respect to transmitting engine noise and how the pucks hold up as well over time.

Have seen a lot of guys in the GM 3800 community use pucks for engine cradle/frame mounts, transmission mounts, etc with reasonable success. But the ride/noise/vibration was impacted. For some that wanted a firmer ride/experience it was good, for others it wasn't acceptable. It just depends on one's own preference of course.

Engine noise is washed out because my exhaust is already so loud. Seriously thinking about getting different mufflers or installing resonators, kind of getting over the loud exhaust pretty quickly.

Went out today to lunch and ran some errands to test the mounts. After awhile I totally forgot I changed out the mounts, started to not notice a different during regular driving. At idle though, there is a very VERY slight vibration. I think it may bother some but since I've already replaced most of my bushings with polyurethane, the harsher ride is normal to me. There isn't major different between the original engine bushings and these harder pucks, IMO.

The one thing that made a big difference with these pucks is when revving while in Park/Neutral there is less whole car movement from the momentum of the engine revs. Everything seems to be much smoother.
Accelerating from a redlight, the response seems to be much quicker and smoother with less chassis flex also

So you just ran a long bolt through two standard pucks? Did two pucks coincidentally match the thickness and line the engine up at the same height/angle as the OEM mount?

Yup. The hardest part of the job was trying to get the bolt to sit still and not spin while I tightened the nut.

What I ended up doing was making a small window/hole in the bottom oem mount bracket to fit a box wrench so that I could hold the head of the bolt while I tighted up the upper nut. Other than that, it's as simple as changing out an oem mount.

The two pucks is about a 1/4" thicker than oem but I figured through wear, torque load, and weight of the motor itself, the oem mount was worn out and probably didn't measure up to when it had brand new rubber.
